A Year on Clear Lake-Jun13, 2013

In the Flow –  June 13, 2013

Pairings was today’s theme. I came upon these two mallards resting beside the water’s edge, so at peace with the world, and with who they are. They are in the flow of life and the moment, and make it appear so effortless.

Then there was momma goose and baby. Momma being every bit the protector, she kept a wary  eye  on me as I passed by, while baby looked on curiously.

I found the doves perched in the tree deep in the heart of the peninsular. But my favorite pairing of the day was that of the odd couple–the egret and the seagull–as they stare, deeply engrossed in a happening on the water.

The other thing that caught my attention today was this dragonfly, unlike the pretty ones that appear in books and on the internet, this one is rough around the edges. Life isn’t always easy, but would you really have it any other way?
