A Year on Clear Lake-Jan 25, 2013

Cleared For  Landing–January 25, 2013

Amid fog, a seagull zeroes in for a landing atop the old purple martin birdhouse.

Life cycles play out before us everywhere, everyday.  A tiny microscopic egg transforms into a caterpillar, and then into a butterfly, before it is gone. Seeds grow into gardens, producing blossoms and fruit then peter out. Change and transformation is an essential part of everything from our personal lives to the world around us.

The old birdhouse serves as a daily reminder to me that change is the only constant, and that life itself  is fleeting.

We can bemoan change or embrace it, but we can’t stop it.
