Flashback: A Christmas treat – snowfall, Dec 10, 2008
The year 2008 had been a tough one. Hurricane Ike had slammed ashore in September. The area was still reeling from its impact. Then, the most amazing thing happened. Early December snowflakes started falling. Snow is such a rare event in Houston that it is always welcomed with the joy and enthusiasm of a child. What an absolute delight!
A check of records going back to 1895 showed that such a snowfall in early December had not occurred since Dec 10, 1944.
Wishing all the happiest of holidays!
