The 12s have it – Dec 12, 2012
A lot has been made about today’s date – 12/12/12. It’s funny how people get wrapped around dates. It’s just another beautiful sunrise on another glorious day. The date doesn’t make it special – we make it special, or not.
For the last two days I have been trying to get a good shot of what I think is an Osprey, but the fuzzy photos I got yesterday actually have me thinking it could be an eagle – though I’ve not heard of eagles wintering this far south. Whatever it was, it definitely had a white head.
I’ll never forget the day I was making the bed and looked out the window just in time to see as osprey fly pass with a poor fish clutched in its talons. The fish was being held horizontally with its head pointed in the direction of flight. If the circumstances had not been so dire for the fish, you would have thought he was along for the ride. It was an odd sight to see out one’s bedroom window, and it was a few seconds after it had flown pass before I realized exactly what I had just witnessed.
