Nothing goes to waste in nature, even the carcass of a dead fish serves as a tasty meal for a hungry raven.

A grey, overcast day, but a great day for birds. More new birds today – small plovers. Very colorful little creatures. Plovers are wading birds with short bills, that feed mainly on worms and insects. I need to research what kind these are – in all there are about 40 subspecies. I’ll get back to you on this.

In the meantime the yellow crested night heron was back on duty at the marina, as was the white egret.
