A Year on Clear Lake-Apr 15, 2013

Provided For–April 15, 2013

Today, we are so isolated from the natural world that we don’t see this side of nature very often, a predator with its prey. The heron with a crab, the osprey with a fish–it seems shocking. Of course, we are at the top of the food chain, but separated from nature as we are, we have forgotten its lessons. The heron and the osprey kill only what they need to survive. We, on the other hand, kill and destroy far beyond our needs and seem oblivious to the ramifications of our actions.

We need to reconnect, and to recognize that our actions have consequences. This beautiful earth can provide all we need, but it is not ours to feed our greed.
